2015 Annual Meeting: Learning & Voting!

Letter from incoming Georgia Arts Network President: Elizabeth Labbe-Webb:

Anthony Rodriguez Speaking

Anthony Rodriguez of the Aurora Theatre speaks about Innovative Collaborations during the 2015 Annual Meeting.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Augusta on Monday, April 20, 2015, most especially our speakers Anthony Rodriguez, Producing Artistic Director at the Aurora Theatre, Melinda Roell, Development Director at the Averitt Center for the Arts and Dennis Sodonka from the Greater Augusta Arts Council and the Jessie Norman School of the Arts.

Together, we had a chance to celebrate our work this year, including working with our members and supporters in advocating successfully for a major increase in the budget for the Georgia Council for the Arts. Read the details of our Advocacy Report.

With our speakers, we discussed innovations in partnering, collaborations, community engagement, and professional development.

The Georgia Arts Nework membership elected several new members to the Board. Help us in welcoming Mollie Quinlin-Hayes and Jessica Akers to new 3 year terms and welcoming renewing member Mary Susan Wheeler for a second 3 year term. Thank you all for your willingness to serve.

Finally, let us thank our Annual Meeting sponsors:

If you were unable to join us, know that you were missed. The Georgia Arts Network is your organization. As we proved with the enormous number of messages sent to the State House in this session, we are only as strong as your voices and your stories.

Keep in touch! Our work is ongoing and must happen all year long. Now is the time to invite your leaders to your venues and your events. Tell them your stories while they are home, often. Let’s plant the seeds for more great funding success!!
